Uscito per la prima volta a puntate sulla rivista per ragazzi 'Young Folks', le sue ambientazioni suggestive, i suoi personaggi pittoreschi e iconici tratti dall'immaginario dei pirati, i tesori nascosti e la trama intrisa d'azione, è anche considerato un romanzo di formazione ma contiene anche sorprendenti spunti di riflessione da parte dell'autore, soprattutto per quanto riguarda il sottile confine che separa la morale dal compiere un'azione disdicevole. Suggestivo, ammantato di esotismo e, naturalmente, uno dei romanzi che vanta il maggior numero di adattamenti radiofonici e cinematografici nella storia della letteratura.

First version I purchased had chapter breaks with same font as the normal text. Very poor.Second version is fine so it's better having a check on the sample before purchase.
Translation sounds a little obsolete. I don't like "Can-nero"..."Cane nero" sounded better.
The plot is exciting.
Much advisable for kids reading.
